MBRACe (Multidisciplinary Black Research and Advisory Centre) is a research hub that conducts research to:

The Issues that Impact Health Outcomes for Black Populations

Black nurses are underrepresented in the Canadian healthcare system.

Black populations experience a disproportionately high risk of chronic health issues and adverse health outcomes
Absence of Canadian health outcome data for Black populations.

Limited institutional support for recruitment, retention and advancement for Black nurses and nursing students.


Our Purpose
We examine health and social issues that impact Black populations to advance Black health through research and advocacy.
Our Approach
At MBRACe, we combine traditional scientific methods with critical social research methodologies to examine chronic health issues and systemic barriers that impact Black populations, while developing evidence-informed interventions to advance Black health.
