About MBRACe

MBRACe (Multidisciplinary Black Research and Advisory Centre) is a research hub that conducts research to:

  • Improve health outcomes among Black populations.

  • Support the future generation of critical health leaders.

Our Purpose

We examine health and social issues that impact Black populations to advance Black health through research and advocacy.

Our Approach

At MBRACe, we combine traditional scientific methods with critical social research methodologies to examine chronic health issues and systemic barriers that impact Black populations, while developing evidence-informed interventions to advance Black health.

Our activities are designed to advance Black health through research and advocacy. Our program activities fall into two general categories: 

RESEARCH

As a multidisciplinary research hub for high quality evidence, MBRACE combines traditional scientific methods with critical social research methodologies to examine health issues and design interventions that improve health outcomes for Black populations.  

Pamoja Nursing Program

An evidence-informed program designed to foster belonging and success for Black nursing students in Nova Scotia through community-centric activities and mentorship.
